‘Get Together’ COMPETITION - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By entering the “Get Together” competition, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

  1. DESCRIPTION
    1. The European Parliament is organising a competition for the members of the together.eu community to offer them the opportunity to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg and experience European politics. Winners of the competition will live a unique experience at European Parliament premises in Strasbourg during the plenary session in May 2022 (this is subject to change according to sanitary measures in place at the time). Winners will have the chance to attend a plenary session in person, meet the team behind “together.eu” at the European Parliament, meet European Union decision-makers and explore the cultural richness of the city of Strasbourg.
  2.  WHO CAN ENTER?
    1. Entry is open to all registered members of the together.eu community who are at least 18 years old and are citizens or residents of a Member State of the European Union, at the time of the award decision. Winning entrants will be required to provide a departure address within the European Union (excluding outermost regions and overseas territories) for the trip to Strasbourg.
    2. Any entrant not fulfilling the above conditions will not be taken into consideration in the selection process. 
  3. HOW TO ENTER AND PARTICIPATE
    1. The competition commences on 03/02/2022 (03rd of February 2022) and concludes on 25/03/2022 (25th of March 2022) at midday (12:00) CET.
    2. In order to enter the competition, together.eu members must click on the button “Register” of the “Get together” event at the page: https://together.europarl.europa.eu/event/get-together-2022-02-03-2022-03-25-609/register
    3. After completing the action described in section 3 point b (3.b), entrants must invite at least one person to sign up to together.eu by using their personal referral link (available on their personal profile page in the together.eu platform, https://together.europarl.europa.eu/my).
    4. Entrants must be part of the together.eu community, by means of registration on together.eu. If they have not done so in the past, they can sign up on together.eu homepage, validate their registration (complete the two-step validation by email) and subsequently perform steps described in section 3 points b and c (3.b and 3.c)
    5. Any entrant not complying with the above requirements will not be taken into consideration in the selection process. 
  4. PRIZES
    1. There will be one prize draw (see section 5) and 6 (six) winners.
    2. The prize includes the following items paid for by the European Parliament:
      1. 2 (two) overnight stays during the first week of May 2022
      2. Round trip flight tickets (depending on the address of the winners) and/or train tickets to travel to Strasbourg from the city of the address provided at the time of the award decision and for returning to the city of the address provided at the time of the award decision. The travel booking is arranged in collaboration with the prize winner.
      3. 1 (one) lunch to the restaurant within the European Parliament premises in Strasbourg.
      4. 1 (one) daily guided visit to the European Parliament premises in Strasbourg and possibility to attend the plenary session.
      5. Recommendations for a cultural visit to the city of Strasbourg.
    3. By accepting the prize, winners agree to:
      1. Participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the publicity of the competition. In particular, they agree to be photographed and filmed by the European Parliament. To this end, winners will be required to sign a model release form for the use of their image rights. 
      2. Gant the European Parliament a perpetual and non-exclusive license to use video footage and photographs created by them during the day of the visit in the European Parliament premises in Strasbourg and to distribute it on any European Parliament social media and community channels. To this end, winners will be required to sign a license.
      3. Not claim any remuneration for the above points c.α and c.β of section 4 (4.c.α and 4.c.β).
      4. Comply with all security and sanitary rules and measures when entering the European Parliament premises in Strasbourg.
    4. Prizes cannot be transferred to any other person or redeemed for cash.
  5. SELECTION OF THE WINNERS
    1. 6 (six) winners will be selected from the total pool of eligible entries who meet the selection criteria as outlined in clauses 2 and 3. The selection will be done randomly and anonymously by means of drawing of lots, using a digital tool, on 28 March 2022.
    2. Each entrant, who has entered the competition during its validity period (see clause 3.1); and has respected the conditions for participation (clauses 2, 3 and 4.3); respects the code of conduct terms and conditions (https://together.europarl.europa.eu/code-of-conduct) will be eligible.
    3. The winners will be notified via email on 28 March 2022 to the email address linked to their account registered on together.eu. Entrants need to confirm their participation within one week (seven days) of the notification.
  6. NO LIABILITY
    1. The European Parliament reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition or any of the arrangements, schedules, plans or other items directly or indirectly related to the contest, without prior notice to participants and at any time and for any reason if deemed necessary.
    2. The European Parliament will under no circumstance whatsoever irrespective of the cause therefore, be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury to the winner nor to property or else caused or suffered in connection with this contest or any prize(s) awarded in connection herewith.
    3. The entrants bear the sole liability in case of claims relating to their activities carried out in the framework of the contest, for example concerning the infringement of third parties’ rights. 
    4. Winners agree to indemnify and hold the European Parliament, its personnel and agents, harmless from any third party claims for loss, damage, prejudice, liability or expense suffered as a result of or in any manner in connection with the winner’s acts or omissions.
    5. If for unforeseen reasons the prize cannot be offered in the format outlined in these terms and conditions, another prize of similar value will be offered by the organizer. Winner(s) will be given the option to accept or decline the alternative prize.
  7. ORGANIZER’S DETAILS

  8. FORCE MAJEURE
    1. In case the travel is cancelled due to unforeseeable exceptional situations or events beyond the winner's control and not attributable to error or negligence on their part, a new travel ticket can be reimbursed, at the sole discretion of the European Parliament. The European Parliament will assess those particular situations on a case-by-case basis.
    2. Each travel pass will be nominative and cannot be transferred to another person under any circumstance. The name on the travel pass cannot be changed.
  9. WITHDRAWAL AND CANCELLATION
    1. If a winning entrant does not accept the prize, for whatever reasons, before the European Parliament has booked the travel, their place will be re-assigned by means of a drawing lots. Winning entrants are invited to confirm their acceptance of the prize before the travel booking, as per section 5 points a and b (5.a and 5.b).
    2. If a winning entrant decides to cancel the travel (excluding conditions set out in clause 8) after the European Parliament has booked it, their prize will be withdrawn and the prize will be allocated to another winner by means of a drawing lots. The travel booking is non-exchangeable and non-refundable. 
  10. DATA PROTECTION
    1. Data are treated in respect of the privacy policy (https://together.europarl.europa.eu/privacy-policy).
    2. For the tickets and the hotel booking, the following data will be kept for 5 years:
      1. Passport number
      2. Birthdate
      3. Country of residence and nationality
      4. City of departure and city of arrival
  11. JURISDICTION
    1. The legal relations between the entrants and the European Parliament shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of the European Union, complemented where necessary by the substantive laws of Belgium. In case any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to the subject matter hereof that cannot be settled amicably, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the General Court of Justice of the European Union insofar as such dispute, controversy or claim relates to or involves the liabilities of the European Parliament.
